Think On Purpose…

Dear Diary,

July 24th 2011, 1:05 pm,

I was reading through some of my church notes this morning and I read the notes I had on a sermon my Head Pastor did one tuesday night.

It was about our thoughts and how we think.

This is what I got from it today:

I think sometimes our thoughts scare us or embarrass us, but the bible says we can control our thoughts! They don’t have to do that to us!

“Throwing down, forever, imaginations, and every high thing that rises itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” – 2 Corinthians 10:5

Meaning, “Throw away the things you imagine or the thoughts you have that go against what God says to us in the bible and never pick them up again! Make all your thoughts obedient to God’s words.”

I believe our minds are battle fields and that God is calling us all to arms!

If you decide in your minds that something good is going to happen to you, your more likely to notice when something good does happen and the same if you think something bad is going to happen!

“What you think determines your perspective and your perspective determines what you say and do!”

God wants us to think on purpose!

God wants us to decide to think good thoughts and decide to throw away the sinful doubtful or worrisome thoughts!

Because if you think good thoughts about God, your perspective of God will be good and what you say about God will be good!

Because if you think good thoughts about yourself and your life, your perspective of yourself and your life will be good and what you do and say in your life will improve!

Because if you think good thoughts about other people (whether you like them or not) your perspective of other people will be good and therefore what you do and say around and of those people will change for the better!!

Lets think on purpose together! Lets spend time in God’s word together! Lets look and see what thoughts need thrown out and which need nurtured! Lets look past each others faults together!

Love,

Deanna 🙂
